Day tour to Petra
Places we visit: Petra.
Number of days: 1, 07:30 am – 7 pm.
Language: English (a supplement for a different language.
Comprised meals: Lunch at a restaurant in Petra.
Tour description: An experienced Jordanian tour guide who speaks English or any required language (for a supplement), and will accompany us at all times. Transportation from the hotel to Arabah border crossing and return, in an air conditioned coach throughout the tour (not including walking tours). Entrance fee to Petra, a short horse ride inside the reservation (optional), lunch at a restaurant in Petra, a bottle of mineral water, a tour of Aqaba (pending on our timetable).
The tour does not include: Border taxes, personal expenses, and insurance.
Tour description: Coach ride to the Yitzhak Rabin border crossing at Arabah, and meeting the Jordanian tour guide, with our representative's assistance. Traveling to Petra via Wadi Yatam, driving through some enchanted landscapes. We will make a short stop to freshen up. Two hours from the beginning of the trip we will arrive to Petra, enter the Petra nature reserve and take a short horse ride (those who wish to do so). Petra, the Nabatean capital, is carved into the rock, and situated in the far end of Wadi Musa. The road leading there meanders through the narrow deep winding and breathtaking Siq (the shaft) at the end of which the striking splendor of the burial shrine Al Khazneh (the treasury) is revealed to us. We will stop to take pictures and then arrive at our ultimate destination, the ancient and picturesque city of Petra. We will visit the theater, the façade, the Winged Lions Temple which is still under excavation and more… At noon we will have lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon we leave Petra and drive back to Aqaba, and if we have time, we will tour the city. Close to 7 pm we will cross the border back into Israel.
Those who have difficulty walking can hire a donkey drawn buggy for a supplement paid to the local people.
It is prohibited to carry food or beverages across the Jordanian border.
Make sure you have your passport and that it is valid for at least 3 months.
When making reservations you must fill in the following data:
- Full name in English, as spelled in your
- Passport number.
- Date of issue and date of expiry.
- Date of birth.
On tours going out from the beginning of October and on it is advisable to take along some warm clothes for the evening time.
There may be some itinerary and timetable changes, due to factors beyond our control, such as weather, etc.
